Closed for the season
The Smiling Cow is now in hibernation for the winter! Thanks to all our customers and friends for making this such a banner season. My thanks to the incredible staff of Cow Girls who contribute so much to our success... they are a pleasure to work with!
We will be busy planning and buying during the winter months to get ready for a new year and will open in mid April to begin our 77th season here in Camden.

Winter in Camden
Though we are closed for the winter, there's still lots going on in Camden and it's definitely worth a visit to enjoy the beauty of the season.
We are busy preparing for a new year (our 78th) with lots of new merchandise arriving in April and a grand reopening on April 14th. It's like opening a new store every spring, and we will be marking in and displaying all our new products.
Look forward to welcoming all our old friends and seeing new customers come spring!

Our 78th season here in Camden is now in full swing and our hours are:

Fall Hours
Yes, the summer has flown by and we have now changed to fall hours: M-Sat 9:30-5:30 and Sun 10-5.
This is such a lovely time to visit Camden now that things have quieted down a bit, and the weather is spectacular... crystal clear, warm days and cool nights. Soon the leaves will start changing from green to brilliant colors; don't miss this amazing season in Maine.
It has been a wonderful season here at the "Cow"... very busy and so many lovely people enjoying our state and our town (hope you were one of them). We will be open through the end of October and then take a rest for a few months as we go on buying trips and prepare for next spring... our 79th year!
Closed for the season
We ended the 2018 season on October 24th and, after buying and restocking the store during the winter, we will be ready to greet you again in April 20191
Puzzles- Vintage
November 2020
As we have all had to learn how to stay active and productive while staying safe inside during these stay-at-home times, we have discovered that puzzles are all the rage, and we had a difficult time keeping them in stock this year in the store. Some of the Maine related puzzles have been impossible to reorder so we branched out into other companies making fun and challenging puzzles that, though not Maine themed, are beautifully designed and have proven very popular. Check out our Mainely Maine section (and soon to be a new book and puzzle section) and take a look at the wonderful vintage designs which all come in a beautiful keepsake box. Most people who have bought one come back for another to give as a gift. The National Parks puzzle has been a particularly big seller and Maine's Acadia Park is part of the design.

Fall Hours
Another summer comes to an end and we are enjoying a somewhat slower pace as the days grow shorter and the nights chillier. We will miss the hustle and bustle of this extraordinarily busy past few months, and we are so grateful to all the wonderful customers and friends who shopped with us this year.
We are now open Monday- Saturday from 9:30-6:00 and on Sunday from 10:00-5:30. Hope you will have a chance to visit Maine during the lovely fall months!
